PLAYWRITING SURGERIES WITH PLAYWRIGHTS NICOLA WERENOWSKA AND RICH CHILVER
Wednesdays 1-2pm, Lakeside Theatre Café.
Nicola Werenowska and Rich Chilver are in residence at the Lakeside Theatre this term and will be offering half hour one to one playwriting/creative writing surgeries every Wednesday lunchtime from 4th May to 15 June for students/creative writers at all levels.
This could be: –
* Industry advice on questions such as where to send your work? How to get commissioned? How to put on your own work? How to get started? How to market yourself and your work? How to develop relationships with theatre professionals? How to fund your work?
* Individual support with specific playwriting areas e.g. creating characters, finding the right structure, telling the story.
* Reading and commenting on short excerpts of script/play structures/synopses.
* Sharing her experience of working as a freelance playwright
* Discussing topics such as the playwright/director relationship, working with actors, the creative process.
* Supporting writers to find a process that works for them.
Sessions are free but booking is essential. Email Nicola or Rich to reserve a slot.
