Maybe you’ve lost your marbles… Or maybe you’ve found the most transformative piece of theatre that you’ll see this year. Probably both. Nominated for a London Pub Theatres award in its debut run, ‘Funeral Teeth’ promises a night of chaos.

What and who are we allowed to grieve? And does that really matter?

Loss is the only truly universal experience. Whether it’s coming to terms with the passing of a loved one, tucking the first tooth you’ve lost under your pillow, or realising that maybe you should have got that map out after all… – we’ve all been there. What’s more, we’re going to keep coming face to face with loss. Lose yourself (geddit?) in the latest piece by Succulent Theatre, unpacking what loss looks like to them, what it looks like to you, and what it could look like for all of us.

About Succulent Theatre:

Succulent Theatre is a feminist, queer theatre company, comprised of three female emerging artists; Amy Stephenson-Yankuba and Rio Montana Topley and Katja de la Fuente. Amy and Rio met at The University of Essex studying BA Drama in 2016. They went on to complete their MA in Theatre Practice together in 2020 and this is where the first version of their debut show ‘NASTY’ was born. Kat, who went to school with Amy, joined the project as a Producer in early 2021, and made the company a trio. Lucky enough to be picked up at Edinburgh Fringe 2022 by none other than Nathan Stickley (Head of Programming, Harlow Playhouse), we established a co-producing partnership and have been on an upwards trajectory since then.

NASTY has since visited venues all over the UK and we have created a school version of the show, along with a workshop, which has been a huge success with younger audiences. We enjoyed huge success with national schools and theatres tour in 2024. Funeral Teeth began development in early 2023 and has already been a finalist for a London Pub Theatres award.

All three are passionate about autobiographical theatre and in building its place in the industry as a beautiful and meaningful style of connecting with practitioners, audiences and, well, people.
