Scratch nights at the Lakeside Theatre

We are proud to support emerging artists from our student and local community through our Homegrown programme, and as we expand our Homegrown offer we are launching regular Scratch Nights to give aspiring theatre makers and artists the chance to develop their work.

You can apply year round to perform at one of our scratch nights, just email arts@essex.ac.uk to request a 10 minute slot and find out when the next scratch night is scheduled.

We provide:

• Mentoring and support from our team
• A 10 minute slot to share your work-in-progress with an audience and get feedback
• Photos (date dependent)
• Basic technical support

You should:

• Use your own performers and creative team
• Bring your own props (use of our props cupboard is available on request with prior notification)
• Provide all technical requirements with as much notice as possible
• Be available

• Thursday 15 January, 6pm
• Wednesday 11 February, 6pm

Our opening scratch night of the year has no theme and is relatively light touch, think Open Mic Night, but with a more performative focus!
