Whether you want to explore social niceties in your work (like Alan Bennett) or want to stretch the very limits of what’s acceptable in theatrical form and content (as in the work of Sarah Kane) being aware of the power of taboos is an important skill for the dramatist. Join us for a stimulating workshop which also poses the question: ‘Are there any taboos left for dramatists in 2013?’
Lakeside Theatre Writers workshops are open to anyone keen to develop their playwriting skills, whatever their level of experience. Workshops are reasonably priced and are now free of charge to University of Essex students. Led by the Lakeside Theatre’s Andrew Burton, each workshop explores a different theme and may be booked individually or as a series. Numbers are limited to 16 participants per session so early booking is strongly recommended.
