Linguistic Diversity: What does sub-Saharan Africa have to contribute?
One of the central foci of theoretical and descriptive linguistics is to understand the range of variation that languages offer in terms of their structure. A look at sub-Saharan African (Bantu) languages enriches the data set immensely.
Professor Kula will highlight some salient features of Bantu languages and emphasize the importance of preserving some of these endangered languages without which both linguistic and cultural diversity would be lost.
