Thirteen Reasons Why Not

Fri 22 Jun

‘Thirteen Reasons Why Not’ is an original piece written and directed by University of Essex student Grace Durbin.

The play explores the theme of mental health in young people, and the ways in which we can build our resilience towards stigma and build an understanding towards such a matter.

We follow the journey of the protagonist in developing her understanding as to why people are sad, and the ways in which she helps herself to stay happy.

This monologue-based piece, intertwined with movement and technical theatre hopes to encourage an optimism towards the stability of today’s youth.

This is a work in progress piece, in development towards a performance at the Ubumuntu Arts Festival in Rwanda in July.
