Jonathan Marriott and the Painted Birds are the new live outfit for the Colchester singer-songwriter. Jonathan’s brand of heartfelt acoustic is played with raw emotion and with influences drawn from the likes of Billy Bragg, Jamie T and Nick Cave, Jonathan’s passion for live music is clear as he gives a real performance in the truest sense of the word. The Painted Birds bring a whole new dimension to Jonathan’s sound with the addition of drums, bass, lead guitar and piano each written by the respective band members.
The 20th February will see the first show as a full band. This is going to be something really special. With a hand-picked lineup of three amazing acoustic musicians sharing the bill, this is an opportunity to see the Colchester Underground Acoustic scene at its finest.

Hailing from Southampton, Cat Eliza T first came to Colchester when she was spotted on YouTube and asked to come play the Underground Acoustic ‘Duck Day’ house show in September 2014. She compelled a packed room with her powerful, Streisand-esque vocals, acutely crafted songs and her ever-growing ‘multi-instrumentalism’. Travelling up especially for this show, Cat will surely be an unforgettable addition to the night. www.facebook.com/
Geoff Lawrence is the unofficial Mayor of Rowhedge, a local legend and frontman of garage/indie/punk veterans Slugworth. We are so excited to have him open the night. Funny, sad and consistently incredible.
