For the dramatist, there is nothing as valuable as seeing your work up on its feet and getting feedback.  For this workshop, Andrew Burton will be joined by a pool of acting students drawn from the theatre’s Summer School to workshop scenes that you have written.  If you are interested in seeing your writing up on its feet in this way, please email andrewcburton@hotmail.co.uk by 5pm on Monday 6^th May explaining what you hope to gain from this experience and submitting the scene you wish to workshop.  Not all pieces can be chosen but all participants will benefit from taking part and the process of work-shopping and group discussion will help your own writing as we ahead into the summer break.

Lakeside Theatre Writers workshops are open to anyone keen to develop their playwriting skills, whatever their level of experience.  Workshops are reasonably priced and are now free of charge to University of Essex students.  Led by the Lakeside Theatre’s Andrew Burton, each workshop explores a different theme and may be booked individually or as a series.  Numbers are limited to 16 participants per session so early booking is strongly recommended.
