Leah Cousins

Tue 26 Nov - Wed 27 Nov

Written and performed by Lynn Whitehead
Directed by Tim Welton

It’s the 1780s. A once busy village midwife finds herself falling out of fashion since the smooth-talking young Dr Glibb has arrived. He is gaining popularity and business and Leah has not taken it gracefully!
Today, she has invited you, her god-sibs, to join her as she prepares for an important journey.

Found in an 1807 poem, Leah’s story examines the shift in childbirth rituals from being female-led social events to masculine medical matters.
