Lightstreams

Thu 17 Nov

Covid, have we forgotten about it? Not only about the bad, but also the lessons learnt? Are we ready to remember? Or are we leaving it behind and with it also those who are still affected by it?

Lightstreams, supported by Arts Council England looks at the Covid experiences of first-generation migrants in the UK. Through an experimental style, it tells a story of two foreign women living in the UK: a mother who tries to stop her husband going back to his work as a carer and an elderly woman, a former international spy abandoned in a care home for the elderly.

Mother and Elderly Woman are in the business of remembering and retelling their Covid experiences and of a past, dominated by other global crises.

In collaboration with the Lakeside Theatre, and Lumenis Theatre Company Mary Mazzilli, Senior Lecturer in LiFTs, presents a scratch performance, directed by Robert Price and supported by Andrew Burton as dramaturge.
