Professor Gizelis discusses the role of women in post-conflict reconstruction and how local capacity and social capital can be regenerated through synergies between women’s organisations and UN peace missions. Women’s role in peace and conflict is of broader relevance and challenges many common assumptions in studies of security and conflict.
