SpaceEater

By Emma Kopf

A young woman dressed in white and a young man dressed in black, sit on an empty dark stage with a spotlight slightly illuminating them.

The ship, SpaceEater, is endlessly drifting in space, swallowing the emptiness.

First the Astronaut was the only passenger, but as time went on, others joined him: strange beings, not entirely human. He has no idea how they entered the ship, but one thing is certain; they can’t leave without him.

The deeper they travel in space, the calling of home gets stronger and chaos becomes unavoidable.

Winner of the 2023 Theatre Arts Society Re:Write competition, SpaceEater by Emma Kopf, takes us on an interstellar journey that is both unsettling and imaginative.
