THE TIN RING

Thu 30 Jan

The Tin Ring by Zdenka Fantlova. Adapted from the book by Mike Alfreds and Jane Arnfield. Directed by Mike Alfreds and Performed by Jane Arnfield.

Zdenka Fantlova is one of a handful of Holocaust survivors alive today. This is her story. Born in Czechoslovakia, Zdenka was 17 when the war began and the ring of the title was given to her by her first love, Arno. Zdenka kept it with her as a symbol of truth and hope, from Terezin to Bergen Belsen. Directed by Mike Alfreds, The Tin Ring is a profoundly uplifting story of great love, brought to life by Jane Arnfield in this outstanding solo performance.

‘The show, simply staged and performed with grace by Arnfield, is a desperate but dignified catalogue of loss, and yet Fantlova’s voice is so warm and so forgiving that the piece becomes compelling and inspirational.’  Lyn Gardner, The Guardian.
