Wau: An Eye For An Eye

Sat 07 Mar

It’s 1990s Malaysia. Crime is spiralling, trust is thinning, and the city wakes to a murder too deliberate to dismiss. As if the streets weren’t already stretched to their breaking point, this single act sends shockwaves through the police force, exposing cracks no one wants to acknowledge.

Called back into the field is a once-brilliant detective, forced to confront a case that feels disturbingly personal. But this is not just the story of a man hunting a killer. It is also the story of the Phantom Thief—an unseen figure turning the city’s corruption against itself. Each crime is a message. Each victim, a reckoning.

As puzzle-like murders unfold, two paths collide: one driven by duty, the other by revenge. The deeper the chase goes, the harder it becomes to tell justice from punishment, and hero from villain. When institutions fail and wounds are left to rot, who has the right to decide what is owed?

This gripping play explores vengeance, morality, and the cost of unanswered suffering. Brought to life by a passionate ensemble, it promises a tense, provocative night of theatre that lingers long after the final blackout.
